Tips for a great day on the ice

  • Dress in warm, waterproof layers — gloves, toque, snow boots, coat and snow pants
  • Always bring an extra set of dry clothes
  • Never head onto the ice alone — bring a companion
  • Mind the ice: 4 inches of clear ice or 6 inches of cloudy ice is the minimum to walk on

Where are you located?

We are located on Cook’s Bay, on beautiful Lake Simcoe, in the town of Gilford, Innisfil. The best access is off the end of Highway 89, or off the end of Gilford Road for township access on foot.

What are your hut prices?

Day hut rates (taxes extra, max 6 per hut, no half-day): adults 12+ are $60 weekday / $70 weekend, children 6–12 are $25, and children under 6 are free. The minimum charge is $180 plus tax.

Do you provide bait and rods?

Yes — a scoop of minnows is $12 and a rod rents for $10 (line, hook and weight included). A $50 pre-authorization is held per rod and released on return.

How do I get to my hut?

We shuttle you to and from your hut. Breakfast and lunch are available for purchase, and there’s a pit stop to refuel snowmobiles and vehicles.

What are your winter office hours?

During the season our office is open Thursday–Sunday, 6 am–4 pm, and closed Monday–Wednesday. The launch ramp is closed for the winter.
